Kim, a native of Eutaw, Alabama, is vice president of Way, Ray, Shelton & Co., P.C., where she works primarily in accounting and auditing. She has concentrated her work in the industry areas of newspaper and construction entities.
Kim is a 1982 Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in Accounting. While in school, Kim was initiated as a member of the Beta Alpha Psi and Beta Gamma Sigma, the national accounting and business honor societies. She received her CPA certificate in 1985. She is a 1991 graduate of Leadership Tuscaloosa.
Kim is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Tuscaloosa Rotary Club. She served as president, vice president and secretary/treasurer, of the Tuscaloosa Chapter of the Alabama Society of CPAs. She has also worked in various volunteer capacities with The ARC of Tuscaloosa, the United Cerebral Palsy of West Alabama and the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama including chairperson of the Finance Committee for the United Cerebral Palsy and co-chairperson of the Ambassador program for the Chamber. She and her husband, Ted, have four children, Lindsey Elmore, Tyler Elmore, Hunter Sartain, and Clay Sartain.
